Pamphlet: "Quinn Square Tenants' Rent Strike Victory"

Description:
This pamphlet was produced by the Communist newspaper, the "Daily Worker", and chronicles a rent-strike by tenants living in Quinn Square, Bethnal Green. This strike, in protest at rent rises regarded as unreasonable or even illegal, attracted the attention of a wide range of political activists, including the Labour Party, the Communist Party, and on the other side the British Union of Fascists (BUF). The author of this pamphlet, a Communist, accuses the BUF as represented by their leader Oswald Mosley, of working for the interests of landlords. Issues of rent were highly important at this time, as the majority of Londoners were tenants of either public or private landlords.
