- This is the carved and painted insignia of RAF Kenley. It is a badge of honour to unite fighter pilots. RAF Kenley was one of the two Royal Air Force stations in the Croydon area. The other was based at Croydon Airport. In World War II Kenley was a base for two fighter squadrons. Together with those at RAF Croydon and nearby Biggin Hill, they defended a wide area of southeast England from London to the Channel.
