Theatre production of 'The Geisha' - Photograph
- This photograph of a production entitled 'The Geisha' comes from an album of 34 black and white photographs of theatrical productions taken by Enfield photographers John W.Young and C.S. Wilkin. The album was found in the loft of an Enfield house by a relative of the donor. It is thought that the photographs are of theatrical productions that took place during the 1950s at the Enfield Technical College Entertainments Association (E.T.C.E.A), now known as the Broxbourne Theatre Company. The E.T.C.E.A was founded in 1943 and the company quickly built up a strong reputation for pantomime and musical productions. In the front row, 3rd from the left is British actress Julia McKenzie early on in her acting career. Julia McKenzie was born in Enfield and went on to become an award winning stage and television actress and theatre director.
