Colour postcard of watercolour Une Partie de Football by James Thiriar

Description:
The postcard was sold in aid of the Asiles des Soldats Invalides Belges in London (asylums for disabled Belgian soldiers in London). A hospital for Beligian solidiers was opened in Courtfield Gardens, Kensington in December 1915. Although not funded by the division, it was almost entirely staffed by Red Cross members for the duration of the war. This was in addition to numerous London divisions offering aid to Belgian refugees.
