Description:
This book, 'Metro-Land', is the last edition of the series published by the Metropolitan Railway (Met) over a period of 17 years (1915–1932). It describes the places served by the Met and includes photos and colour illustrations, a map of the Metropolitan Railway and its connections, sections on 'How to get about London' and 'Country Homes in Metro-Land', lists of local facilities, and 'The Story of the Chilterns'. The front cover has an illustration of a country lane by artist Michael Reilly. 'Metro-Land' is the term coined by the Met to refer to the new suburbs that grew in northwest London as a direct result of the developing line.
