1:50 scale model of Strand station as originally constructed in 1907 - architectural model

Description:
This is a street-level model of the now disused Strand Underground station as it would have been when it opened in 1907. It is on a corner site and has two street entrances. Both have glazed terracotta façades and space above for later development. The model was constructed for London's Transport Museum as a student project and based on original drawings and photographs of the station. Strand station was on the Piccadilly line and in 1915 was renamed Aldwych. Since its permanent closure to passengers in 1994, it has often been used as a film location.
