An Entertainments National Service Association (E.N.S.A.) concert at Acton Works. - photograph

Description:
Second World War staff watch an Entertainments National Service Association (E.N.S.A.) concert during an air raid at Acton Works. E.N.S.A. performers were professional entertainers who travelled all over Britain and overseas to entertain the forces and those involved in war work, helping to boost morale. E.N.S.A. was jokingly known as 'Every Night Something Awful'! Acton Works was set up in the 1920s to overhaul Underground trains on a production line basis.
