Metro-Land - booklet

Description:
This book, 'Metro-Land', is an example of the series published by the Metropolitan Railway (Met) over a period of 17 years (1915–1932). It contains descriptions of the places served by the Met with photos and colour illustrations, a section on 'Country homes in Metro-Land' and other housing developments, and a list of hotels in the area. The front cover has an illustration by C A Wilkinson of a country house and garden with mock-Tudor facade and leaded windows. 'Metro-Land' is the term coined by the Met to refer to the new suburbs that grew in northwest London as a direct result of the developing railway line.
