braidmaker's flattering mill

Description:
Sindall's Silk Trimming factory was established in Dalston in 1864. During the early 20th century, the company became one of London's last surviving manufacturers of silk cord and braids. This screw mill was used to flatten the cord or braid after it had been plaited.
