Political demonstration, Wellington - photograph

Boys in Welling demonstrate their political opinions through the paper and stickers they carry. The sticker, created by the National Socialist Irish Workers Party and the National Socialist Party of the United Kingdom, invites people to send off for further literature. These two parties also produced The Phoenix newsletter. The British Movement also made their presence known, represented by groups such as 'skinheads'. As the National Front Party began to lose support, the British Movement gained it. Its leader, Michael McLaughlin, was imprisoned a year after this photo was taken for distributing similar stickers carrying the words 'Race-mixing destroys our people'.
