Button badge - 'Paul Ringer is Innocent', 1980

During the final stages of the match at Twickenham between England and Wales, the Welsh flanker, Paul Ringer made a late tackle and was sent off. Wales lost the match 9-8 and in the weeks that followed faced accusations of being a ?dirty side'. This badge was produced in response to the incident; Welsh fans claimed that Ringer should not have been sent off and that he was innocent of any foul play.
