Opening ceremony of the Sir James Hawkey Hall 1955

- Sir Winston Churchill arrives for the opening ceremony of the Sir James Hawkey Hall on 26th March 1955. He was the MP for Wanstead and Woodford and the hall was named after a famous local politician who was one of Churchill's friends and supporters. The hall was built by Wanstead and Woodford Council on the site of church that was bombed in the WWII. A small collection of Churchill memorabilia is still maintained at the hall.
