Shelter in Underground Stations, issued by London Transport - leaflet

Description:
As soon as the Blitz started, thousands of Londoners bought platform tickets and took to the Underground for shelter. Although this was not officially encouraged at first, London Transport soon recognised the need to regulate the system in order to prevent overcrowding. Rules and regulations were put in place and special shelter admission tickets were introduced. This leaflet outlines some of the new safety procedures. A crossword puzzle was printed overleaf. The solution was posted on the shelterers' noticeboard a fortnight later.
