"Hampstead" computer game
- Description:
- This computer game satirized the reputation of Hampstead as the home of the 'chattering classes' and also the social climbing of the 1980s. The economic boom created a high demand for luxury goods and homes in the suburban areas of London, and Hampstead had long been identified as a mecca for wealthy and artistic types. In this early role-playing game for Spectrum 48 computers the user begins as a penniless East Ender who through a series of decisions about profession and lifestyle, can hope to eventually 'attain Hampstead' and win the game.
